Longevity is NOT simply surviving in a decrepit old body. Longevity is about THRIVING and truly enjoying the journey with a vitally energetic mind and body. It’s about celebrating life as you are wholly capable and dynamic. Longevity is defined as living without the indignities of aging. Growing older is not the same as “aging”. Indignities such as limiting ourselves to a wheelchair, being inactive because we are too frail to function, Alzheimers cognitive decline, relegated to nursing home and marginalized. Growing older is not a rigid process it is flexible and mailable. It is under our influence.

Example if you are 60 years old and have noticed that you have lost a step . . . a little more achy, not as quick physically or mentally, your energy is struggling, sex drive and performance isn’t ideal, then you know of what I speak. The idea is not to simply resign yourself to chronic decay into your 70’s and 80’s with diminishing reserve and a shrinking existence. That's a horrible idea. Longevity is about reestablishing your youth, get your body to repair and restore to feel more like you did when you were 45. Longevity is about retaining this vital energy through your 80’s and 90’s and continue to exert yourself with the energy that you remember and retain as you grow older.

It is entirely reasonable with today’s understanding of the human body to reverse aging by 10 or even 20 years. It’s being done every day by those in the know. Are you willing to do the work to earn this potential? It may be a lot easier than you think.

That's the type of longevity I AM investing in.
That's the sort of lifespan and Healthspan that I expect.
I don’t care how many years I live
but every one of those years will be an awesome experience

full of energetic fun, love and enjoyment.

Should I start this when I turn 70?  NO!!!  People who get to enjoy longevity are people that are healthy TODAY. Longevity is little more than stamping out current health threats and optimizing your cellular function. Why would I wait to age 70 to begin to feel optimal? I want to feel great NOW and ride that wave for decades.

“But people who live to be 100 have to be perfect and have perfect genes”. That's a complete fallacy and has been studied. Most centenarians hold at least 5 to 6 bad genes and yet the genes never turn on to create harm. Some centenarians are overweight or even smoke. So what’s the magic formula? It’s merely a numbers game. A % of a %. We enhance our % of living longer with less decline when we enhance the cells ability to repair. The name of the game is repair and restore.

Baseline health needs to be addressed first. If you have diabetes, high blood pressure or elevated lipids then this requires attention so that you don't carry that forward. The sheer weight of that illness makes longevity a very tall order. But this is a part of how we engage a strategy of longevity. Stamp out active disease, correct the baseline elements and then apply a more meaningful longevity strategy.

The key to remember is that the very things we engage to promote a younger physiology will in fact make it very difficult for disease to exist. That means dramatic reduction in your risk for cancer, Alzheimers, heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and weight gain. Younger cells don’t get sick and we fully intend to make your cells younger.

It is futile to simply take a supplement that promises you the moon and stars if your lifestyle doesn't support your cellular functions. Don't be fooled by silly simplicity that sells you a product without showing you the path. The path to excellent aging requires a carefully considered strategy engaged by a clinician that truly understand your personal needs and your cellular requirements. If you are bold enough to take this on then let’s get to work . . . or more accurately . . .  let’s start to play.

What are we targeting?

If you look at a list of the top 10 causes of death you see that most of it is preventable. If we take initial action to reverse present issues such as diabetes and high blood pressure then we steer clear of the most common causes of death: heart disease, stroke, cancer and Alzheimers.

Top causes of Death

  1. Heart disease: 696,962
  2. Cancer: 602,350
  3. Accidents (unintentional injuries): 200,955
  4. Stroke (cerebrovascular diseases): 160,264
  5. Appropriate prescribing of drug therapy: 158,000
  6. Chronic lower respiratory diseases: 152,657
  7. Alzheimer’s disease: 134,242
  8. Diabetes: 102,188   But this is the driver of heart disease and Alzheimers.
  9. Influenza and pneumonia: 53,544
  10. Kidney disease:  Nephritis, nephrotic syndrome, and nephrosis: 52,547

Beyond this we are working to enhance the very factors that leads to a declining life force; mitochondrial energy. If your cells are able to easily generate energy then they can HEAL. They can repair. So, we target the elimination of toxins to the mitochondria such as statin drugs, plastics, stress, and poor lifestyle choices. And intentionally introduce elements that stimulate the mitochondria to multiply and fuel them with things that energize their potential.

Studies show that centurions, people that live beyond 100 years, live into their 90’s with no chronic disease. They spend decades free of the common chronic ailments living vital lives. When they do eventually die it is a short illness with a quick end. Their medical bills in the later half of their life are 1/3rd that of others who die much younger. They have more money in the bank because they didn't spend it on healthcare. Said another way, they enjoyed more years of vital living, spent far less time going to doctor’s appointments, and had more money in their pocket to spend on the things they enjoyed rather than the drugs and surgeries that other doctors were recommending for sick people. Define Aging vs Longevity

Longevity is the opposite of Aging. Aging infers a decline in function. The question becomes WHY do we age? What’s going on that makes my cells perform poorly over time. The shortest answer is your “mitochondrial” health.  Within each cell are 800 to 1,000 little powerhouse energy generators called mitochondria. As long as the cell has high functioning mitochondria, it can generate the energy needed to do its job, repair daily wear and tear and restore itself. But as we age these mitochondria tend to dwindle both in number and in function. The cause of this loss of function is a long list of known factors: stress, lack of sleep, poor diet, toxins, pesticides, plastics, and generally poor lifestyle habits. So longevity, the art of maintaining good physical and mental function becomes the task of maintaining good mitochondrial health. Fortunately we have recent research and tools to show us how to better accomplish this.

How can I enhance and stimulate more mitochondria?

There are a lot of tools at our disposal. In this longevity program we will define and engage all of them for the most robust response. Here is a partial list of what supports mitochondria:

< >Exercise – stimulates production of more mitochondriaFasting – impacts cellular energy signals to drive clean up inside the cellOzone – one of the single best tools in support of mitochondrial healthResveracel – combination of resveratrol and nicotinamide riboside Berberine – a plant extract to silences mTOR and enhances glucose regulationKetogenic diet – stimulate production of more mitochondriaCold exposure – impacts the energy demands inside the cellVitals: Heart Rate Variability, heart rate at rest, Blood pressure, cardiac coherence, and post exercise heart rate recovery along with VO2 Max. Score Cards to assess: Sleep, Stress, Nutrition, Fitness, and Cancer risk. Cognition – cognitive questionnaire to track status and progressionHeart & Glucose:  insulin 2 hours after a carbohydrate load, detailed cholesterol investigation including LDL particle size and number, and Lp(a) to assess heart attack risk. Imaging:  CCTA & Cleerly is a CT scan of heart vessels and defines if plaque is riskyGlucose control markers:  uric acid, lactate, Hemoglobin A1cEndocrine:  hormones, thyroid, and cortisolNutritional status: Iron, vitamin D, electrolytes, magnesium, B12 and folate, zinc, copper Detoxification: glutathione, heavy metals (lead & mercury, etc)Organic Acids Test – assess 76 metabolites and potential presence of foreign invaders like aspergillus, clostridia, and yeast overgrowth. Genetic Age – “Horvath Clock” shows how old your DNA is, relative to your chronologic age. Cancer Screening:  Galleri blood test will screen for 50 different types of cancer. You are overweight. The average American is just below the obesity level and on average is carrying an additional 20 to 30 pounds of fat. More than half of Americans in their 60’s are taking 4 or more prescriptions drugs. Those numbers get worse with each year of life. No thanks. DALY – Disability Adjusted Life Years. The average American will spend the last 20+ years of their life in a state of disability. Not great living, more like slow dying. Powerful Nutrition: this will be explored in great detail and specific recommendations assigned to drive change within your cells. There is no one diet that's perfect for everyone but something along the lower carb ideology will most likely serve you well. Exercise & Fitness:  exploring your present level of conditioning will be addressed and we will formulate a plan to expand that to a greater functional level. Tracking:  we will formulate a tracking sheet that interests you. It is important to track what is most important to YOU so we will design that specific to your needs. Supplements:  there are a number of natural elements that will be offered to support your mitochondria and stimulate a healthy robust immune system. Elements that can help secure excellent control of blood sugar and cholesterol. Our efforts will always be to avoid drug use if possible. Peptides: peptides are natural proteins that stimulate repair. They are can be administered by small subcutaneous injections, or oral capsules.  These are typically periodic not daily. This is the new frontier of medicine, using elements that restore our natural function. IV Therapy:  Ozone, vitamin C, Myers detox combinations and more are all options to accelerate your body’s recovery and stimulate energy and mitochondrial repair. Stem Cells & Growth Factors:  exciting tools that powerfully help restore your body’s ability to repair itself as it rids the body of old damaged senescent cells. Mind-Body Mission statement:  If you don’t draw a map to your destination then how can you expect to ever arrive there?  This will likely be the most productive and surprisingly beneficial element. This tool when properly explored will extinguish stress as you currently know it. Allow yourself to explore what’s possible.

If you feel the natural tug to explore what is truly possible, if you are tired of being told “you’re just getting older”, if you know that there is more to life than stress and a To Do list then lets engage in something meaningful. This journey can move as slow or as fast as you feel comfortable with the key is to get started now. Every day counts.
